Weekend in Review

Down, generally speaking.

Friday took more out of me than I would have liked, and I spent most of the weekend clawing my way up from a depressive mood that actually probably started with New Years Eve - my first notable bout since my last doctor visit a few months ago, and cause for consideration.

WoW didn't pick up after last week, we're still in a lull as a group, with only 6-7 interested folks online and some of those (myself included) not at our best. Some remarks nearly had me leave early myself, but I hung out for a while. There was one dungeon run, though I wasn't in it. That made it a little harder to reach VP cap for the week, but not that difficult.

GW2 wasn't much better, all told. Three guild members pulled in two strangers to hit up the Sorrow's Embrace dungeon. I thought I'd been there, but I guess I only marked the waypoint outside because nothing inside was familiar. It was challenging for a while, though I managed to keep from actually going down through, I think, the first boss. Unfortunately, we hit a corner where you come out of a gauntlet of traps into a pack of tough, aoe-heavy mobs that wiped us a couple times. Then there was circling around an occupied cavern complicated by mortar fire and pulling of unnecessary packs (by both PCs and NPCs). Then there was the seemingly-endless even spawns prior to one (final?) boss room that we eventually evaded our way through and left up. Then there was said boss fight that... ugh.
So much fire and burning. It was hard to stay up for more than a few second after blowing both healing effects. Maybe with more condition removal skills or something, we might have done better, but we wiped. And wiped. And wiped. I went through full equipment repairs and then some. And finally we gave up. And, as with most such fights in GW2, the encounter did not feel "challenging" or like something I need to get better to overcome. It felt cheap. Exactly why that is has been difficult for me to pin down...

Couple that with sitting around on the MUCK waiting for a scene being held for one person and Sunday night was utter fail.
