After some biking and some walking this week, my truck is back in seems to be in working order. Ye ol' mechanics found some damaged/worn wires near the alternator on the circuit that was constantly blowing fuses and fixed that up. So far, so good.
On one hand, I wish I'd told them last time "go ahead and hunt down the source of the problem," as that might have saved me this hassle. On the other hand, though, the symptoms then weren't constant, so they may not have even found the problem or it might have taken longer. After all, when a fuse blows sometimes, you don't really know if you fixed it just because you did something and the fuse doesn't blow. As far as my time goes, I wish it'd been gotten out of the way earlier. When I consider that they charge something on the order of $70 per hour, however, I think maybe this was the better way to handle it since it probably took less total time on the part of the mechanics.
Not much progress in Exalted recently due to scheduling difficulties. Read a few short stories last week, but no full books.
Big content patch on WoW went in this week, though. Tons of new daily quests to do. Stuff to unlock. New faction to gain reputation with. Also a return to "OMG, there's so many people here doing the same quests that it's hard to get anything done!" in a couple areas. To Blizzard's credit, though, the respawn times in the new areas have been very fast, so even with mobs of people around I haven't really had to wait long for anything (except the bombing run). Rare drops are a little annoying, but that's always the case. Dealing with the Wretched sucks for my paladin, though. A paladin with no mana is... an undergeared warrior with no special abilities. It's a sad, sad thing.
On a related note, it's rather frustrating to be cut off in the middle of questing because someone has to go suddenly or because they've gone AFK with no warning. If you're gonna be doing this, maybe you shouldn't press me for doing the quests together. You certainly shouldn't be pitching dungeon runs at me if you're not going to be around for them. :p
Specifics haven't actually been mentioned, but I understand I'm being gifted with expansion(s) to Guild Wars or something. New content there will be nice too, though I feel a little guilty when someone buys something for me that I've deemed not to be worth my own money. Well, we'll see how that all goes.
