Monday *yawn* update
Hmm... Guess I'll stick with a minor update rather than posting something I wrote. It's a tad too depressing at present.
Had no game Saturday. Amusingly, this all went right around me. Some of the players decided since one was gone, we wouldn't be playing. This has been a standard truth in our games, but I think we have enough players we can go on without one more of the time now. I was just as happy to have the day 'off.' It was probably a good thing in the long run.
Instead, there was much talking and dinner out. Pleasant, all-in-all.
Last night revolved largely around meeting up with an old friend. I had qualms at first, but it really was good to see her again... even if she pointed out I'm less fun these days. Heh. Like I needed that said. She also gifted us with promo cards for a Cyberpunk CCG friends of hers in Denver have put together.
Throughout the weekend, I've been getting online later than usual and I've had no energy while there. It's a variety of things both physical and emotional. If I allowed myself, I'd probably be going to be at eight or nine instead of midnight.
I played and finished (one ending of) Deus Ex: Invisible War. That didn't take very long. It's... good, but not great. The original Deus Ex was a favorite of mine. It had nice flexibility in how you get through the game as well as a good mix of conspiracies and such. In spite of that, it's relatively linear - but it takes advantage of that with a good storyline. Invisible War mires you in the agendas of several factions right from the beginning, but you get to the end and realize how little it matters what side you've chosen along the way. Only the final moments really count (which makes it about as linear as the first game, but it feels less satisfying). I miss the XP/skill system of the original too.
And... and... that's about it.
