The weekend
Well, we did end up roleplaying Saturday. Yay. It was a nice break from being around the house. No game next week, though, due to the local SCA event.
Yesterday, I spent a few hours out of the house as well, browsing WalMart and Home Depot. The latter really doesn't seem like a good store for browsing, but I wanted to get an idea (however rough) of what I'm going to need and want for home maintenance. I'd still like a few days to work on that before anything else. Nina's eagerly talking about moving in as soon as possible. I guess we'll work something out along the way.
I napped away much of the afternoon. It didn't help me feel rested in the long run, but I do recall having a dream. I was a newly-hired teacher (of all things) at some high-tech, near-future complex. In going about things on the computer, I ran into some information I couldn't access. It was something about a student, though I can't remember details now. Interested, and feeling it was important to know, I went to someone I knew - a woman who worked as some sort of administrative aide. With her looking into that, I took a break to deal with something else. When I returned (and you might have foreseen this), I witnessed her being killed by some sort of internal security guards. Ayep, whatever that information was, I really shouldn't have asked about it. So, fleeing the building, I hit an ATM to get a fair bit of cash before my accounts were frozen and knowing the access would be traced by the company/government/whoever. I traded my remaining credit cards to a couple kids for a cheap, but functional, car. And away I drove, careful to avoid going home or attracting attention and thinking about how to start a life "off the grid."
Gee, haven't I seen that in a movie... or ten? Ah well, take it for what you will. That was probably the most exciting thing that happened to me all day. Heh.
Susan's out of town until Tuesday. Not that anyone told me she was going before I called and asked some hours later. So, at least I don't feel I have to hide in my current room in order to avoid the flurry of cleaning or anything.
And that's about it. It's now Monday, and just another day at work so far.
