Dreams of Supernatural Investigations
Kind of an interesting one that I want to get down...
I was Watson to Holmes in some sort of organization that dealt with supernatural investigations in London(?). We were in a museum, perusing displays of a vast array of historic objects that had some sort of power, as well as a Friday the 13th/Monkey's Paw-ish curse. Maybe that's just that particular room rather than the entire museum, but none of them were extremely powerful and threatening, though enough to keep contained rather than let people use them.
We met with another pair from the organization - another investigator and his assistant/apprentice. They were there to view a particular relic that I had, but turned over to a display for inspection with reluctance. It was a gnarled cluster of tree roots that formed a sort of sword handle and rough guard. Atop it there was a red spherical crystal/gem where a blade would be and I pictured it projecting an energy blade (more in the vein of Tenchi Muyo's Ryoko than a lightsaber, though the difference is technically minimal). At the bottom, there was a short power cord, indicating it could be plugged in to charge, though I knew it really drew power from the wielder. I was also aware it was extremely powerful and dangerous (beyond being an energy sword, apparently), but had never actually seen it in action.
To my discomfort, we all looks it over and left it in a display case while going to, I think, do research elsewhere in the museum for comparison. When we returned, the relic had been stolen. I was upset, but Holmes seemed to brush it off to leave to other authorities until I revealed that it was a family heirloom that actually belonged to me at this point. Then he finally took interest - and there was the sense that he really did that just to get me to admit the personal connection openly which he probably already knew of.
That's all I really recall, but it struck me as much more interesting and coherent than most dreams I have...
You know my opinion on this would be a wish to see it fleshed out further, even if not using Holmes specifically in name.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice. I'd really like to see where this would go.
