WoW: Dawning of BfA
I am weary.
I have endured the alien world of Draenor, broken and not. I have walked the frozen land of Northrend to the peak of IceCrown Citadel itself. I have battled Deathwing, aspects of Old Ones, and even Sargeras himself.
And it is now that I am tired.
Sargeras' defeat and the shattering of the Legion was a great victory. I thought, perhaps, we could hang up our weapons for a time and relish an Azeroth free of imminent doom. Even with the damage done by his blade, the world could have, should have, been given a chance to rest.
Instead, the wheel turns, the cycle continues, and the Horde lashes out. So, instead, I find myself taking up Oathseeker once more, even lacking the power it once had, and setting out to shield the Alliance.
This is not the first time, of course. When returning from the defeat of the Lich King, many territorial lines had shifted and Gilneas fell. With Garrosh's leadership, the Horde turned Theramore into a crater - much like the destruction of Thal'darah Grove and the damage done to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
I cannot blame all the members of the Horde. I respected Vol'jin and still feel for many of the others, particularly tauren and elf. But the Horde is notoriously bad for putting utter monsters in charge. Garrosh was one. Now Sylvanas runs the show, and under her banner the Horde has continued with the attrocities, burning Teladrassil and even bathing Lordaeron in blight - a scorched earth policy if ever there was one.
I am a paladin, and by the Light, I will stand with my last breath against evils. I rouse myself to oppose Sylvanas, but what burdens my heart is those who march behind her. Are they afraid to act? Do they truly hate an Alliance that, while imperfect, has time and again tried not to escalate matters so much they support the approach of a leader who does not even care about her allies? It is the people I lose faith in...
And yet, I cannot simply stand aside. So, once more we step into fields of battle praying for the day it is no longer necessary...
