Happy Halloween!
I have no plans for it whatsoever! That's not abnormal or anything, so that's fine.
I got to watch the local production of Rocky Horror Friday night. They regularly do "themes" for the yearly (?) local show, with actors dressing up one way or another. This year was a cowboy/Western theme. Overall, it was sort of a mixed experience, but a positive one.
On the down side... well, I find the theming sort of unnecessary. The original rings in my mind, so seeing a layer of something else over it is a little jarring. As a show experience, the rowdy audience was a milk annoyance. And the bar lacked simple syrup, of all things, so I had to settle for a basic gin and tonic. The horror! ;)
On the up side, there's quite a bit of energy to a live show that watching the movie just doesn't have - and it was my first time experiencing that. It was performed well, and generally pretty cool all around.
Things have slowed down in WoW. I made a push to make sure my death knight and priest were both through their class quests and had their third artifact slots upgraded, and my main had to go through some of the added Suramar content with 7.1. But that's about where I felt a need to back off some and spend a bit less time in game over the weekend. I still think it's all pretty great, but don't want to burn out hard on it, and those experiences are a little too fresh for me to want to level up a fourth character or struggle with DK and priest to get through dungeons and up to the point where my paladin is. Also, I'm seeing fewer guildmates around while online, which might lessen interest a little, too.
I really wish several dungeons were not mythic-only - that would provide some further accessible content to sink teeth into.
In GW2, I have a couple cats in my home instance now. Yay? This is more important to a certain someone else than to me. ;) It's been interesting to help out with some of the Order of Whispers story quests that take place in an earlier version of Lion's Arch - the story instance uses the old map(s), and casts a slight sepia tone over everything as an apparent reminder that it's "back in time" from where things stand now in the world.
With the release of version 1.4, I've been playing The Division a bit again. it was definitely an improvement to the PVE game in... almost every way? Things feel more balanced and while higher-end enemies are still tough, they aren't quite the bullet sponges they used to be. Things scale a bit more linearly than exponentially, and with the World Tier settings, you can tackle most things in the game at a level that rewards you with items that lift you up, rather than holding you at that level.
Of course, it's still a game where you're doing stuff to get loot in order to do stuff to get loot. The endgame has virtually no story to speak of. But it's reasonable fun for a third person shooter and doesn't feel like it has the same brick wall for non-elite/group players that it used to.
