Gaming in the End of 2015

Arenanet gets points for doing some cute things with some major news site(s?), like this. Still, I feel like Heart of Thorns is being rushed out the door.
The pace of the reveals of new specializations has seemed to run up pretty darn close to the October 23rd release date. It feels like that stuff should have been shown off a fair bit earlier. Then there's news that their Halloween-style events are ramping up on the 23rd as well... that seems like unnecessary content glut that you would want to space out a little bit.
A raid was just recently beta tested. A recent post about new legendary weapons indicates they'll be released into the game a few at a time, starting with three (of sixteen total?). Raids also apparently are going to be staggered in release. This is the stuff you want live in the game when the expansion is released.
To me, it seems like they're trying too hard to get the expansion out in October when it should have been pushed back until more of its content was ready.

And Blizzard has Legion. Of course, it's too early for release dates there, but I was pondering a bit and looking at the past. Certainly, they're trying to do quicker releases, but the company is just not that nimble. I've seen a prediction of May. That almost seems reasonable, though I lean a little more toward June, myself.

I still haven't seen a definite date for FFXIV's next content patch (3.1, I think?). The last I saw indicated maybe early November. That might get me back in for a month anyway.

On the non-MMO side, let's see:
- Fallout 4 (almost sure-buy) is in November.
- Assassin's Creed Syndicate (maybe buy) is in November for PC, anyway.
- XCom 2 is in November, it looks like.
- Rise of the Tomb Raider (maybe buy) is... console-exclusive 'til possibly next November. Bleh.
- Haven't seen a date yet on the Shadowrun Hong Kong mini campaign, which will add a little playtime.

So, there ought to be plenty to play in a month or so. Perhaps even "too much" all at once. I'm still amazed at how much play I've gotten out of MGS V Phantom Pain.
