General Updates
Well, what to say?
The holiday weekend wasn't a total bust, though it felt a bit lonely. Playing Dust: AET provided sufficient distraction and relaxation, I guess.
I have, for the moment, dropped any efforts at putting together a campaign to GM. We almost roleplayed Tuesday night, but it was too last-minute to pull together everyone we wanted there, seeing how we're getting into the closing sessions of a major plotline. That's probably just as well from my perspective, as I was also in Tuesday to get a couple fillings. Whee. At least I wasn't shy in getting in the next morning to get those adjusted to fit my bite this time.
Work's been pretty crazy, though it seems to be easing up today. We have a couple big projects looming, though there's only so much to be done in advance. It's been leaving me pretty weary by the time I get home, and I've even crashed early a couple nights.
Activity levels seem to be up on the MUCK, which seems odd. I'm seeing faces I haven't for a while. I'm also seeing the predictable conflicts that haven't reared up in a while either. We still have a head wizard whose power is too limited for the role - and that's still actually a positive thing in some ways. Too much of the setting details exist only in one person's head. Communication between everyone is still difficult enough that there's really no good way to coordinate everything. I guess it's better than being a complete ghost town, though.
I find I'm "missing out" on things in GW2 because, as I pointed out to a friend, the only appealing reward for this section of "living story" stuff requires more effort than I'm willing to put in over the course of just a few weeks. I think I'd be doing more in the game if things weren't so transitory. Patch 5.3 seems to have raised interest in WoW a little bit, at least temporarily. I actually saw a few guildmates on Saturday evening. Heck, we even tried running a challenge mode heroic dungeon. We had our asses largely handed to us, but we tried. I've yet to see how the heroic scenarios are tuned. The Barrens content is... okay, I guess, but pretty bland after the initial run through.
