Furryfaire Dramaz

Urgh. Major, wearying drama last night on Faire. All because Orion realized (OOCly even) that Jezra and Jericho have been sexually involved.

Now his big hangup, so he says, was less that it happened and more that he felt lied to about it. The generational difference seems to be a minor squicking point with him, but he seemed to be focusing more on how he went out of his way to make his character assume otherwise when he shouldn't have.

Urgh.

As far as the in-character situation goes, I really don't see how it matters much. While you insist Orion would have done things differently earlier, it hardly seems worth the retcon. Yes, perhaps he would have expressed zero interest in Jezra before sending her to talk to Tash - a conversation which resulted in Jezra writing off any chance of bedding Orion anyway. So whatever "tension" remained between the characters, I/she didn't perceive any real possibility of sex between them since that night. Would it have changed things? Some. But it's so much easier just to have Orion ICly "see the light" now and go forward with it.

I can understand being upset about feeling lied to or misled, but... For my part, I cannot recall telling you Jezra and Jericho were not sexually involved. That said, it's altogether possible I hedged around the topic or even stated at some point that the two weren't "together" or some similar term - something I would probably have taken to mean "in an exclusive relationship," but which could have been interpretted as meaning something else. It is also possible I may now be forgetting something I said, but I can't for the life of me figure out why I would have lied (or even made any effort to dodge the subject, actually). I felt that Jezra's affections toward Jericho were obvious enough, and I certainly wouldn't have done that if it were something I was trying to hide.

For anything I might have said that contributed to the misunderstanding, I apologize. But I don't understand how things got to this point to begin with.

As for Zhokora... I can't pretend any certainty as to what was thought or said. Zhokora seems to know you better than I (certainly for longer). I can imagine that Zho might have foreseen Orion (ICly at least, maybe OOCly?) put off or upset at a Jer/Jez relationship and made some effort, consciously or otherwise, to avoid revealing any such thing. People do hide things, even from friends and even if it makes things worse in the long run. Fear of reactions can lead to some bad choices. I've been there in other situations. But I really don't know. I didn't see any scenes between Jericho and Orion (and I'm not sure anything said IC - if it was - should be a factor in feeling lied to on a player level). I don't see any pages between your two. So I really have no way of knowing what was said. The only thing I can say personally is: I don't believe Zhokora lied/misled with any malicious intent, and I believe Zho feels OOCly miserable with guilt for anything they did do.

Take that for what you will.
