Catching Up

The Old Republic pre-orders? Uhh... Even if I'm almost guaranteed to buy it, I don't like pre-ordering things when I don't yet know an actual release date, thanks.

WoW: The Firelands are tough, but they haven't given me the feeling of being impossible. Yet. I still wonder if our guild team's raw numbers stack up enough, but we'll see. Shannox is going to take some practice with positioning and movemnt. It looks like I'll have Riplimb duty, so getting a better sense of trap usage will be required, but we also need to keep other people from standing in the things. Beth'tilac... well, I could blame a couple of those wipes on being tired. Coordinating the web ascension is a pain yet, but that may become second nature with more practice. With (limited) VP being offered from the tier 11 bosses, though, I wonder if we still might not benefit from further runs there to earn some points and fill out some drops for people. I'm really not sure. Our delving into Firelands (after downing Al'Akir to finish out the guild achievement and unlock dark phoenix mounts) netted us about 2100 reputation and one BOE stamina trinket that went to the other tank.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 2: I suppose I should comment sense I watched it. It's fine and dandy, just what I expected after watching the series thusfar. Final showdowns, lots of shots of Harry obviously thinking people are giving up their lives for his benefit, stuff like that. I'm still bothered by the whole "Deathly Hallows" thing, as the stone may as well not be there and the cloak may as well just be a relatively-unique magic item. Only the wand is "OMG powerful!" and the trinity of the three has zero bearing on the story, near as I could see. I suspect the book did a better job of touching on the secondary characters in the epilogue, which is one thing I sort of missed, but it all works fine as a movie.
