*yawnmrrfle* Quick Round-up

I think we got that Conficker outbreak under control after about a day and a half of work. Pesky worm - thankfully haven't seen one of those in a while, though I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. We were, admittedly, a bit lax with anti-viral protection on some servers because they simply werne't directly vulnerable before. That's probably what got us, though it's really hard to figure a point of origin.

Waking this morning from a second night of tossing and turning. Headachy and a head of strange dreams - a road trip, my dream city, and... oh, I can't remember specifics now.

We added the Conclave of the Wind to our list of downed Cataclysm bosses last night. I knew it'd be rough to learn from the amount of coordination involved. I didn't realize the plant adds would be such an issue. But we started making steady progress and, after failing to get all three down in a minute on one attempt, we pulled together and got it done.

Finished another book, A Dance of Cloaks Friday night. 'tis another fantasy rogue story, heavy on the conflict between merchant nobles and thief guilds. It was a little bit more scattered than I might have liked, in that I wanted more focus on certain characters, but I suppose the author likes setting up a lot of plot threads. 'tis to be the first in a triology, though it wasn't conceived that way. Powerful magics, but pretty rare. I could see it modeled in D&D or even Exalted, because some characters were so high level/otherwise superior to most that it was certainly not "realistic." One thing I found amusing was the portrayal of armor as the equalizer between the skill-heavy rogues and your typical guards - except that most of the named rogues still kill several armored guards while barely batting an eyelash. It definitely gets bloody toward the end, but I still found it a good read.
