(WoW) Slow Raiding Progress
I think most of the "slow" part here was due primarily to trouble getting a full ten level 80 guildmates together Saturday night. A couple people no longer actively gaming. A couple people distracted by a birthday-gift Dragon Age: Origins. One player with serious computer OS issues. One player sick. Yeesh.
When we did finally get a group together and clear certain heads of frustration, we tromped through Obsidian Sanctum again. We tried leaving Shadron up for the fight with Sartharion, but that didn't go so well. Two tanks and more than two things to tank make it interesting. I may need to research that further if only for my own curiosity.
Then back into Ulduar.
We dipped to the side to take down Razorscale without much problem. I worry sometimes when taunt-trading is necessary, but I found I could set Elly as my focus and easily track debuff stacks on her, which makes it immensely simpler.
We continued to skip Ingis and pressed ahead to Kologarn. This one was a good bit harder. It seemed to take us a few times to really get at the top of our game as far as beating down his arm and running from eye beams. Though still on our successful attempt, I think someone ran the beams right across me at one point. >.> He also hits hard. Not Onyxia ODD hard, but hard enough that I saw my health bouncing between 25 and 50 percent more than hovering anywhere else. In one fight, I had Ardent Defender actually go off twice. Aieee. Still, we did down him.
Then we turned back to try the Assembly of Iron (aka Iron Council). Ow. That's about where we ended, after several attempts. Three bosses, two tanks, need to keep range from one of them with an AOE. Steelbreaker's fusion punch can kill me by itself if my health isn't in the upper half and the debuff cleansed quickly. I'm not sure how, exactly, we can do this better. We almost got Steelbreaker down the first (it was first, right?) time, didn't even get real close after that. I don't see that switching tank assignments would help much, but I could be wrong there.
Being more or less optional, I imagine we'll skip the Iron Council and try Auriaya next week (assuming a group comes together). It's hard for me to tell if we're getting better overall. We don't always have the same roster, and each boss presents a slightly different sort of challenge. But it's neat overall anyway. When Ulduar was released, I wasn't sure we'd even get into Naxxramas before the next expansion. So I'm glad that I'm getting to see some content that once seemed out of reach.
And yeesh. I'm not sure I cooked so much in the game when leveling cooking as I have for Pilgrim's Bounty already. @.@ It reminds me I have to make a pie soon. I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving.
