More Roadtrippin'
So yesterday I made Mesquite, TX - on the eastern side of the Dallas area. I was pushing for Dallas. It was getting fairly dark, the traffic was getting somewhat hectic, so I ended up at a Comfort Inn that looked to have seen better days. The staff was nice enough, and there was a BBQ place within sight and walking distance, so it worked out well enough. No stable internet connection for my laptop, though (not sure if that was more their network, or my laptop - it has issues sometimes).
And another looong day of driving today sees me in Albuquerque, NM. Technically, I could be home tonight, if I wanted to, but I'm not keen on night driving and I've been on the road for around ten hours already today. The four-hour drive home will wait until tomorrow and seem easy by comparison.
So I'm ending my day's travel a little earlier than the last couple - partly due to early starting, and partly due to gaining another hour. That's fine. It gives me some time to relax and decompress. Driving all day long makes me sore/stiff in places I'm not really used to.
This should give rush hour traffic some time to die down. I tentatively plan to go have a nice steak dinner at a place I usually hit when down here. I've discovered it's wise to keep food intake limited more to 'smaller quanities over time' while actually driving to avoid a wave of weariness and wanting to nap/digest. But with the day's driving done... mmm... steak.

That sounds fairly pleasant. I hope you've not minded the driving, and we're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. :) Take care!
