Changing the Game(s)

So I'm in a transitional phase of sorts in both Guild Wars and World of Warcraft.

In GW, I'm bringing up a ritualist in Factions. I just got max-armor-level armor this morning, so now there's the question of what runes to put on it. Which, in turn, begs the question of what sort of build I'm going with. And I can't decide. Ritualists are versatile, but no character is great without some degree of specialization.
Item-builds? Well, those negate the benefits of the spiffy end-of-campaign staff I got. Spirit builds? The casting time and immobile nature doesn't seem ideal for our group play (it'd be better for situations where I could set up and start the fight myself). Restoration build? Well, it's supposedly good at healing, but things seem to move so fast, I'm not sure I could manually heal well. Offensive casting build? I love spells like Spirit Rift, but between casting time and time before it goes off, targets have often moved out of the area of effect.
Aieeeee! I can't decide!

In WoW, I'm fleshing out Sash's Retribution build and finding out how different it feels from Protection. Thankfully, most of the spells are the same and I had a good pile of DPS plate gear to go with it - the gear set isn't up to the level of my tanking set, but it seems reasonably solid with some heroic-level dropped rares and reputation/crafted items.
It's very strange to be able to kill some things with three button clicks and before I reach for the fourth. It's also strange having about 16k health intead of 27k. I still have gemming/enchanting to do, and I'm sure I could use some practice on melee DPS tactics, but I think I'm relatively well set up for it.

  1. There's a nice Ritualist spell (ask Kyubiko) which will allow you to summon pre-called spirits to your current location from where they are. Damn useful. Kyu's used it to good effect. :)

  2. Probably Summon Spirits... which is based on Kurzick/Luxon rank, thus is probably going to be a ways off. Don't even get 'friend of' the faction until sometime beyond the city. *grumble*
