Back in the swing

We've been running into delays on and off the last few weeks, but thankfully got in a 7th Sea game Monday night.

The morning after the rooftop combat and the fire, the party has mended their wounds to a degree and gathered their wits. Lucien is missing in, though his sword was found in the rubble of the neighboring building (as the player isn't playing that character anymore).

And so Rufina has taken the blade and wants to get in touch with her half-remembered family. Over a somewhat awkward breakfast, Sylvia agreed to do things that way. The playwright the group came to Vodacce seeking has a nearby residence, though his primary estate is on another island apparently. Going to visit Rufina's uncle first is a detour - and the Eisen doesn't like that - but not too much of one. And, thanks to Sebastian's suggestion, it does allow time for a formal request for an audience to be sent to Horatio Caligari.

No major action, though a bit of banter and much hugging by the excessively-cute Avalon boy, Adam. It looks like we'll pick up on the mainland, so probably the day will have passed.

I find the simple social situations tend to be very... odd for my character. Is it because she's Eisen? Yes, to a large degree. I suppose that fits - they do get inherently less reputation dice right off the bat. Sylvia frequently finds herself being torn between Eisen swordswoman (in a desire to project a strong, business-like appearance) and single noblewoman (who is jealous to a degree of the attention other ladies - like the supernaturally-beautiful Phedre - receive). Of course, the former is something that she puts concious effort into, so if she notices flattery or attraction, her knee-jerk response tends to be to hide behind her warrior fascade.

Those feelings aren't altogether unfamiliar, but certainly not something I planned out in advance. I'm... curious to see what comes down the line in a game where most people were interested in some degree of romance in the story.

Elapsed Time: New day, possibly another before we pick up again
