Silver Pass IX (or lack thereof)
So, yeah, I missed the event entirely in the end. Between a general lack of interest on my part and the amount of rain falling through Friday night and Saturday, this isn't a great surprise. I almost feel bad about it... almost.
I did, however, get a medal even in my absence - something presenting to 'founding' members of the shire, I'm given to understand. I really wish I could say I felt good about that. I didn't. I still don't. Instead, it merely reinforces my belief that SCA awards are... screwy to put it mildly.
Such is life.
Then, after three reasonably-pleasant days off, I get to come back to work to find our connection to the Journal to be going up and down constantly...

*grins* The medallions are for all the shire folk. Those that were founders and occifers just got theirs first. Sorry I didn't 'splain it better, I was still in shock about the trefoil.
ReplyDeleteAh. Well, I guess that makes some measure of sense anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt's not all about the awards... those just help solve arguments.
