The Solus Project

I like a little palette cleanser of a game now and then. The Solus Project was up for sale on Steam and seemed interesting enough to give a try. Overall, it's not a bad experience, though perhaps not so much of a game in a lot of ways. I think it qualifies as "walking simulator" as much as anything, presenting a mystery of sorts in a hostile environment. Earth is destroyed by the passage of a rogue star. Mankind lives on in a fleet looking for a new home. You play someone in one of the scout ships that crashes on what may be one of the last viable worlds. So the fleet is hoping to hear from you to know if they can settle the world, while you're trying to survive, find out what happened previously, and construct a communication tower to send a signal back. I expected a bit more of the survival elements, but really once you gather a few supplies in the beginning, it's not difficult to move forward from one habitable spot to the next without using much, if any,

Meh

So, yeah... Twin Star Exorcists has fallen off my radar. It just doesn't distinguish itself into being "worth watching" in my book. I started watching Mayoiga , which I suppose is more mystery/supernatural/psychological. It starts with a bus full of people dedicated to leaving society behind and going to a rumored lost town. I want to say it has sort of a "Lost" vibe, but I only know about that show from cultural saturation and overflow rather than watching it myself. It's several episodes before there's any confirmation of supernatural forces, but I don't think that's much of a spoiler. Some of the ideas are interesting, but I have trouble believing a lot of the behavior. No one bats an eye at the gun-lover (who, amusingly, might be a furry with the way their lines constantly include cat references). Even moreso, no one really seems concerned by the girl whose solution to everything seems to be "execute them!" Ultimately, I've f

Recent Entertainment

Let's see... Guild Wars 2 remains mostly a couple-hours-a-week thing to do guild missions on Sundays. At some point, maybe I should take on Mordremoth again, but there won't be much drive for me to do anything until there's more story-related content. I've played even less WoW in recent months, though will probably still try out Legion when it releases. The Warcraft movie, though has... done virtually nothing to garner interest from me. Go figure. The Division has become a better experience in general after the last couple patches and some more serious anti-hacking measures. I'm still not a fan of the dark zone, but can stand it in small doses and now there's a good bit more to do (and gear to be found) outside in the rest of the map, which is good. I played through Wolfenstein: The New Order , which was surprisingly good. It lays on the feels a bit thick over the course of the game, but it plays well and the story (though melodramatic) is still a cut
